When I went to college, there were lots of things I never knew about food and cooking. My taste buds were always being tested on new foods I didn’t even have to cook at all. One thing that really hit me hard was how many times people would ask me what my favorite foods are and I would be so unprepared for the answer.

I guess in a good way, it has become the norm in society to question everything, but to not know the true answers to these questions was just wrong. It wasn’t until two years ago that I decided it was time to sit down and start asking these questions again. And no I mean sit down, not do anything crazy!

Instead, I started doing research into this topic and learning more every day. Then, one day while walking home from class with my friend I asked her if she had any suggestions to make some recipes here on Vocal or on YouTube. Her response? “Uh… well you don’t have to be making any because I already have a few of my own on

Youtube. Just put them away and let me focus for a bit.” Yup. That is exactly what I did. So I put together an article with a video of it and some recipes. Now I’m going to share a few quick tips for making your own low-carb olive tree. I hope you enjoy the recipe videos as much as I enjoyed the ones I used. Let’s get started!

1) There is nothing special about high protein foods like beef, chicken, goat, etc. It’s just meat for those who can stand it. The idea of consuming something high in protein really takes out the need to be healthy. You can eat whatever you want, but if you have a problem eating that certain protein, it will make your stomach upset and sometimes force you to cheat on yourself. Having a strong craving for something so unique, you should learn how to make it yourself.

Even though most of us are able to tell our parents we’re fat, it can really hurt your body if you aren’t taking care of it properly. How far does a young child go to take care of themselves? Eating fast foods and fast running? Not to mention how unhealthy their bones can get. So start thinking outside the box every now and then and see if you can actually make good ole boys and girls happy without too many problems.

Yes, all meats are great for getting enough protein to help control cravings. A small percentage can make up for a whole lot in this case. In general, try out whatever you can think of to make this meal healthier. Most of the time you don’t have to worry about anything else than how much weight you’re looking to shed with these little cuts.

2) If you’re someone who hates carrots you might want to give them a miss. These vegetables are very high in fiber, which makes it harder for them to stick to your digestive system compared to other vegetables.

They are also extremely rich in vitamins A, C, E, and K. Another advantage that carrots have over potatoes is that they do not contain preservatives that can cause damage to your gut. Plus they have a bunch of health benefits.

As long as you’re careful to cut these apart and wash your hands after to help keep harmful bacteria off of them, you’ll be perfectly satisfied with what you find on the store shelves. Try broccoli instead and you might not feel as bad about your body afterward. But you should probably consider making sure you have a salad mix for meals like this one. What I mean by salad mix is a combination you can create without having to buy anything else.

3) No wonder why almost everyone has found their personal style and loves their comfort foods. We have become desensitized to the taste of foods and want a simple approach each time. This doesn’t mean it’s easy to figure out if you’re trying to lose weight, but it’s definitely worth it.

Take out the extra ingredients in recipes and add healthy fresh produce to make it taste amazing. For example, you could buy apples and pears instead of buying pre-made ones from the store. Once the freshness of the vegetables shines through, you know it’s really not any big deal. Make sure to throw the seeds on top to make them easy to break up.

4) Sometimes when I am feeling a little bummed out, I will grab my bottle of lemonade and make batches of drinks. Why lemonade if you can just make plain water? I will use less sugar than the liquid. When I’m feeling tired, instead of drinking an orange slice, I’ll just make some lemonade juice and watch it. I’ve discovered that it’s easier to just drink plain water without using any artificial additives or sweeteners.

It tastes pretty similar to water. Some people prefer it if it has ice in it while others like the cold water. Who knows? Maybe once you start using healthier alternatives to sugary beverages, you may want to change your routine. Don’t judge until you try it, but when it tastes right, nothing goes wrong. The bottom line is that you have so many ways to make fun at your next party without having to leave the table.

5) Have it or not have it was is up to you, all that matters is that you make it. Nobody else is going to stop you from making your own dishes. Whether it’s homemade pizza, pasta, mashed peas, or any other type of soup, just make them yourself. After all, anyone’s life is just to live and eat. You don’t have to make it fancy however you want, just turn it into a tasty meal for you and your family. Here’s to better days ahead, and thanks for reading!
